Where are you on Your Journey?

Life is a journey.  Life is a race.  The latter gets confused with competition.  Life is not a competition but it is a race.  It has a starting point and a finishing line.  

And the finish line?  Where you want to get  to at the end? We have called this vision and sometimes we have called it dream.  Irrespective of the term, both indicate “something seen in some form”, imagined or revealed.  The important thing is that there is a picture.

Armed with this picture, the journeys begin.  Without the picture aka vision aka dream, floundering commences.  

In between the starting point and the finish line, there are phases and several sub journeys within the journey.  

For many, this is a huge challenge as a sub-journey, which is often a major disruption that tends to derail the main journey. This could be the uphill part of the marathon route or the corner you need to turn in a sprint. 

As you consciously and intentionally focus on this race, like any runner, you need to know what form serves you best, the corner where to make sure your knees  are up propelling you forward.  Or like the marathoner, you know where to steady the pace and where to push and give it all you have in order to make it to the finish line.  

Knowing where you are in the journey is important in helping you understand what you need (pace, resources, support, connection, water breaks, rest) to ultimately finish strong.

For a business owner, it is knowing what your business needs at a particular time,  and working to focus on just that.  There are starter needs and there are growth needs.  

If you are a professional or an executive in the corporate world, you are on a career journey, For individuals on other pathways, it is similar.

For everyone, no matter the pathway, knowing where you are at every point is critical to how the race or the journey ends.

How do you know what you need when you need it?  For a lot of people, this is where they get stuck and rut sets in.
